Our Portfolio
Nelson Design Collective Portfolio

"Come and join us in contemplation of what can be..." Random devotee of Design Mysticism.

When we aren't sounding like smart asses, or surfing eclectic music blogs we manage to get a few projects done. Every nifty package NDC has created can be whimsically viewed, or ruthlessly vetted by potential clients here in the holy shrine of our portfolio.

But first imagine a smooth marble ante chamber, filled with hollowed silence and reverent statues each paying homage to legendary saints of projects that have come before. We don't just turn a project over and say goodbye we canonize it and seek to see its luster never fade in the millennial tides of today's Internet.

Alberta Government - Tourism Business Development Guides

Alberta needed some updated lovin' for their Tourism Business Planning guides. These guides harken back to the days when engineering firms thought they could do graphic design and page layout work. Fortunately for NDC we got called in by our very special friends over at Clear Think Inc. to do the impossible makeover and turn these Alberta government documents into gleeming new updated, slick communications materials. We bled, sweated, touched the hand of god, and made these tourism guides super yummy.

TARGA Canada West - Rally Racing
Targe Canada West - Website

TARGA Canda West is a dream job for boys and girls who have a thing for car racing. We aren't talking about buckets of chicken and 24 packs of cheap beer watch the car do circles for 3 hours racing. We're talking about European flare, epic history, endurance rallies over tight mountain tarmac courses snaking through interior BC. Racing for anybody from a VW Bug up to the heart stopping machismo of a racing Farari. Nelson Design Collective was stoked to throw down our talents on this project, and we might even run a car in the race. Can you imagine a bright Pink NDC Pinto doing 110km through the Kootenays!!

Catch-Light - Professional Photography
Catch-Light Photography - Website

Catch-Light Photography is the protfolio website of Danny Turcotte, a good friend of the Design Collective. Ah heck, let's just call him family. We also think he's the best wedding photographer in northern Ontario.

Danny started shooting people, pictures of people that is, sometime around 2005 and has since become one of the most saught after portrait photographers in the North Bay area. Business was getting good so the collective was hired to rebrand and rebuild his old website. We did and we also conducted an SEO campaign to bring Catch-Light Photography to top ranks in search engines. Now Danny gets endless phone calls from random girls wanting to take their clothes off in front of the camera.

Fire of Compassion - Workshops & Personal Development
Fire of Compassion - Website

Denise Richard's Fire of Compassion website is as bold, passionate, and unconventional as she is. Talking about personal development and transformative work through teachings in Shamanism, Spiritual and Psychic Development, Tantra, and Meditation takes a pretty grounded sister to deliver authentically on this kind of esoteric goodness. We highly recommend a session with Denise to purge the demons, get your crap together, or heal the wounds from when mom and dad didn't get you that pony when you were seven.

Mark Hoeppner - Music Composer
Mark Hoeppner - Website

After 12 years of formal music education Mark Hoeppner made a decisive shift and began performing and recording with rock, pop, folk and funk groups, doing studio session work, and acting as a musical director for live improv theatre. Since moving to Montreal from Winnipeg in 2000, Mark has completed a degree in music with honors at Concordia University with an emphasis in jazz piano as well as contributed to many film, contemporary dance and recording projects. The last 6 years have been a period of significant career growth as his composition and performance skills have been sought after on an international level. Having traveled and studied musical styles in India and Indonesia, toured across North America, and worked with companies such as Universal Canada, Rogers, Xerox, HMV, and DKD events his creative momentum is picking up speed.

The Nelson Design Collective, on the other hand, was comissioned to rebuild his website and make it more functional for Mark to keep his content updated. We also added an extra media player for his speculative clients.

I Love Bison - Consumer Resources
I Love Bison

I Love Bison is a consumer orientated site about Bison meat products. No more grabbing the tribe and chasing these majestic beasts over a cliff like the epic World Heritage site at Head Smashed in Buffalo jump. Good people who honor the Bison spirit run semi wild ranches throughout Alberta raising Bison, and eventually delivering them to markets through out North America. I Love Bison is the go to site for finding where to buy information, how to prepare, and great recipes for delicious Bison meat.
